When I used to play Sims one of my absolute favorite houses was on the 2nd neighborhood. It was absolutely gaudy. I made a rule for myself that I had to keep the design theme as I expanded it. It ended up great. Sometimes restrictions can inspire creativity. Wish you'd done that with the house.
